Rigid Gems is ray-tracing software that generates stunning 3D CGI in real time. In order to minimize the burden on your GPU, our software only uses ray tracing to produce shimmering objects in all of their glory in the lighting that you set.

Rigid Gems 3.0 is purposely rendered at a maximum of 60fps and uses DirectX Ray Tracing, which generates the scene with one pass, making it more efficient. Rigid Gems 3.0 supports HDR, but if you don't have the required hardware, then it will work without HDR.

Rigid Gems is compatible with Adobe AfterEffects, AutoDesk Maya, and Windows.

Rigid Gems Technical Info.

Rigid Gems runs at an average rate of 60fps on high-spec hardware—we're talking your hardcore gaming computers—but don't worry; we haven't forgotten about all of you who are perfectly content with using an old device: Rigid Gems is also stable enough to run on a first-generation iPhone at about 30fps.

The reason Rigid Gems can function smoothly on even the first iPhone is because we've adapted our software to run on WebGL. We began working in WebGL in 2010—long before it became a mainstream platform—and we're already working in WebGPU, a platform that's still in its infancy, because we're constantly working to make our product look even better and run at an even higher frame rate.

Users can interact with the environment and zoom in and out using their mouse.

Rigid Gems is unique in that the Fukurono brothers made it all from scratch, with no codes taken from other sources.

The reason why they chose to do so is to be able to understand everything that's in their software, as they used it as an opportunity to learn as they went. In fact, the current CEO, Yoshihiro Fukurono, taught himself how to create point clouds after receiving a request to make them with no previous experience—another tool that he's added to his tool belt for future FerioWorks products. He's also experienced in improving graphics on a game console for a global game-console maker.

You can see in the video that Rigid Gems is a fully interactive experience that lets you use your mouse to move the camera and ray-traced objects to your liking. If you'd like to interact with your CGI, contact us to try the free demo.
